Comfortable and Warm!

This jacket is so comfortable and warm! I wore it in 60 degree weather and was sweating! It was perfect in 40's and blocked the wind pretty well as well. Definitely a must have!

Warm but Delicate

It’s a great mid layer but the outer fabric tears easily. Sitka sells a patch kit so it can be fixed.

WORK HORSE

This jacket is the best mid-layer period. It is an absolute work horse in my attire. I can put on my core lightweight, fanatic hoodie, and the Ambient jacket and stay warm all the way down in the 30's. Now obviously after a long sit you may want to add the Fanatic Jacket but for the most part 100% satisfied.

Worth the wait!

I had great expectations when I ordered this jacket. I was hoping it would be twice as warm as my Ambient 100 jacket. I took it on a scheduled duck hunt to Arkansas the week before Christmas. I also took my Duck Oven jacket just in case this jacket didn’t meet my expectations. I wore the Ambient 200 on all six hunts and it did great. I am really impressed with it. It doesn’t get hot and sticky while putting out and picking up decoys and kept me warm sitting in a blind for two and a half hours at 29-32 degrees.

Got this for my x mas present to myself. It’s fantastic, only complaint which is vanity is that there is virtually no logo and the logo contrast is kinda lame, the product is wonderful. I should have looked closer online. But normally the logo is more pronounced .

Nice jacket, not heavy at all, does good as an outer layer for cool and fairly chilly days as an outer layer.

Whitetail hunter experience

As advertised, but wanted to share my experience with this jacket after hunting a range of temps; I’ve used this jacket from the 50’s all the way down to -10(F). About 35 degrees and below is the temperature line where I can hike in with this as well as my bibs, boots, and bag and get tree sticks and a platform set up without sweating. But on that same note, 35 degrees with the 120 merino base layers, the equinox midi pant, and the stratus system is where I started to get chilled. I also took this jacket into the negatives and was freezing with Sitka’s heavyweight base layers and the fanatic system. One could argue that my feet, hands, and head weren’t insulated properly, but they were (if anyone struggles with this I’d recommend watching Sitka’s expert cold weather hunting tips on YouTube, that was awesome in helping with that). Again, this jacket is as advertised, but for a Minnesota guy hunting into the late season, this just wasn’t warm enough by itself. I ended up throwing the Kelvin Aerolite jacket on over top while hunting negative temps, and that was a game changer. Keeping your vitals warm is the biggest factor in cold weather hunting, and that jacket helped accomplish that, granted it is a down jacket made for the glassing knob and sitting still. I’m a slim 6’1, 185 lbs, and the Large fit me well.

A good looking, comfortable, warm jacket that does it all. Wear it as a mid layer in the woods or out on the town this jacket does it all. From big game out west, to whitetail, the duck blind, or a cold spring morning. Fits great, extremely comfortable, quiet, and oddly warm. Size large fits great alone or with a layer or two under or over it.

Love this jacket

I pair this under the jetstream for wind protection. The ambient provides the warmth and the jetstream provides the extra layer of insulation/heat retention, water and wind resistance. The ambient is ridiculously comfortable and can be used much colder than I had imagined. Would definitely recommend this piece.

It's very warm, definitely works as advertised. I gave it 4 stars because the zipper can give me some trouble, and the material can get caught in the zipper as well. In my experience when this happens to an insulated jacket, the zipper will catch and rip the material. I could see that happening here.

Quality Control needed

This was a Christmas present so I was extremely disappointed as was my grandson when he put it on and we promptly noticed the the chest seam was not complete. There were two Small breaks in the seam. I am sending back so will update my review when my replacement arrives. My grandson loved it and the LT fit his 6’3’ frame perfectly.

The weight of the jacket and the amount of warmth you get is great. My complaint is the sleeves not having any sort of taper. They seem very ballooned all the way down to the wrist. Also didn’t love that the bottom had an elastic waist instead of being open. I opted to keep the jacket as I got it on sale and still like the function and warmth for layering of it especially under a stratus vest or jacket.

Best Layering Jacket!

Love this jacket. I wear it while sitting in a treestand under my finatic suit and under my jetstream jacket when climbing mountains out west when the temps drop. Great as a stand alone jacket if the wind is not strong too!

Very Impressive Jacket

Great Jacket for layering and or using by itself in colder weather. Very impressed with its weight to warmth ratio on this one, i used this most recently in 9deg weather for a rifle hunt where i was static for hrs and only had the midweight base layer this jacket and a Jetstream on it it kept me pretty warm. its not windproof but does cut wind enough to wear on its own while moving and does a great job like the rest of this line in regards to moving moisture.

Great jacket, but with a couple of issues

First and foremost, this is a great jacket. Very comfortable to wear and very warm in the right conditions. The 2 issues I have are: the extra 50 grams of insulation definitely affect the fit. If you are borderline on size, go next larger size. Second, above 10 mph breeze the pockets and zipper let the wind in and are cold spots. Still a great jacket, just a couple of things to be aware of.

Great for bow hunting

This jacket is perfect for bow hunting when temps are above 25. It's not bulky and is warm & quiet. On a 25 degree morning, I wear a merino base layer, this Ambient Jacket and a Fanatic vest. . . good to go.

30 degree weather

I usually don’t leave reviews but I will for you guys you get what you pay for in life simple. I bow hunt so I want to stay warm and quiet with less gear on . If you buy a 80$ jacket don’t expect to feel 300$ worth of warmth why suffer in woods for something you love to do invest in your self
