Handle with care

Form,fit and function this is a great addition to any system. It’s fits true and does what it’s supposed to do as good as any layering piece I have ever owned. Be careful when drying this top though, even on my dryers lowest delicate setting as recommended on the tag it still shrunk to the point where I will have to hang dry it, which can be difficult late fall in Wisconsin.

I wore this piece deer hunting in Wisconsin. It was a relatively warm season, this piece kept me warm, dry and comfortable. It handled the variation in temperature prior to sunrise through the heat of the day.

I purchased this half zip to supplement my base layer. The fit was (sleeve and waist length) was perfect. Breathable but warm, it fit into my layers for different times of the year.

Difference maker on cold days. This was the piece missing that I needed to keep warm on those cold days. I mean ice forming snow flying cold days. Not 40°F. Like 12°F. The only issue is they insulate too well so paddling with it on can get you lathered up. The zipper is handy to help cool you down.

I got the timberline pants because I wanted something with more durability than the Traverse ones and they didn't disappoint. And the 330 merino is amazing. Perfect mid layer for a wide range of temps.

I was impressed with the warmth for the weight of the shirt. Wore this and the Dakota hoody for morning hunts in the teens.

6'0, 185lb, size Medium. I originally ordered a Large and, though it would have worked for a midlayer, it was too loose as a baselayer. The M is much better fit. I can later a thin layer under if need be. The biggest advantage to the Core Merino 330 is weight and moisture management. During my testing, I went on a 3 mile run just to see how it compares to 100% wool tops of similar ratings. The Core Merino 330 dried much faster and still kept me warm like pure merino does when moist. The Core Merino 330 felt less wet during peak sweating and breathed much better as well. I haven't done extreme stink testing but, I haven't noticed any stinking after a wearing quite a few times under normal conditions. The neck is on the tighter side when fully zipped. I rarely use it fully zipped. I was able to give me a tad of extra room by stretching the collar. I haven't noticed any stretching in the sleeves or torso after multiple uses like what would happen with 100% merino tops I have used. I have it in Waterfowl Marsh. The pattern is slightly lighter than outerwear such as jackets and pants. This is to be expected being a merino blend.

Good Layering Piece in the Arsenal

Great piece in combination with the other Core Merino 120 and 220 items. Together these create an awesome layering system to fit any hunt and any weather. I like this item and the collar so I don't have too many hoods stacked up. I can wear a Core 120 Hoody and a Delta Wading jacket, with this 330 Half Zip in the middle.

I was really excited about this but was left disappointed! Functionality wise it is great for its intended purpose. Wicking, Dries quickly and minimal stink. However, where my Sitka pack shoulder straps and glass harness were attached it left a very unsightly balled up mess of the wool fabric. Enough that my wife even took notice and said, didn’t you just barely purchase that?,it looks terrible!”

Staple Item

Picked up the merino 330 in September, and wore it alone on the cooler mornings, loved it. Now into November with mornings in the single digits and warming up on the hikes, it’s my favorite layer. No stink, dries quickly if you get sweaty hiking hard. If you are considering it, you won’t regret it!
