Great layer or outer garment.

I have two of these. This is my new favorite goto layer for all hunts. It fits great, but is roomy, so I moved down from an XL to L. Heavy duty merino makes it super comfortable and warm but is a very versatile if you need to shed some heat. The garment is fancy enough to wear out on the town. Great garment.

Overall I like the piece.

Overall I like the piece. However, if you are not actively wearing the facemask, but want the hood up, it doesn't really work at all. I got this for winter steelhead fishing in the PNW, and really want the hood to be functional. Maybe worth considering offering it with or without the facemask?

When weather gets cold and wet

I wore out my old gear and it was time to purchase new under layering products. I decided to purchase the Core Merino 330 Hoodie as my late season format and was I impressed! It work quit well in walking out to my deer stand in the morning with a lighter layer over the top for the long walk. Then once at my stand it was bundle up time and never found a need to leave the stand all day. Sitka continues to define the optimal products for each and ever use. I also used this product for ice fishing and was very pleased with the results! Thanks again for great products! I can't wait for next season with waterfowl hunting to see how this will perform in the blind!

This is a great piece

This is a great piece of gear and one of the first pieces I grab when I head outdoors. The hood is a great touch too.

Great hoodie, very warm & comfortable. Only thing I do not love is how quickly it began pilling. I wear it under my Sitka waders in early season and where the straps are became completely pilled within a hunt maybe 2. Known issue with wool garments but did not expect it to happen that quickly. Would still recommend as it does not compromise the purpose of the hoodie just aesthetically displeasing.

Simply Perfect

Great weight, fit is perfect for me. Have not had a chance to try it out in the field, however, I think this will be a core piece in any pursuit or just wearing out and about.

Excellent Core Merino 330 Hoodie

I found this core merino 330 hoodie an excellent base or midlayer hoodie depending on whether the conditions. It is very warm and comfortable. The XL fit for me was spot on. The hood was a very good fit, especially over a cap. I’ll use it at a standalone or under my Jetstream jacket on cold, windy days. I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

Great Everyday Hoodie

I haven't used this as a layer yet, but it is a great option as an every day hoodie that can go from cold mornings to warmer afternoons without issue. I suspect it would layer well, but unlike some other layers, it looks great on its own

Amazing hoodie

Amazing hoodie that fits perfectly and is super comfortable to wear. Love the additional face mask on this hoodie. They length of the sleeve and the thumb hole as I'm 6'4 is amazing. Nice and warm. I've already worn it multiple times on hikes and can't wait for hunting season to put it to use!

I absolutely love these merino 330 hoodies. I’ve worn them as a base layer and as a mid layer. They are excellent and the sales price was a steal.

The Hoodie is very well made . It is excellent at wicking moisture from your body . The Hoodie is really nice when the wind picks up . It is amazing how it will protect your ears from the cold, when you see how thin the material is . The Hoodie does not restrict your hearing or eye sight .

Been wearing this as a mid layer under a gortex soft shell predator hunting in Canada and it is excellent. The fit of the hood with the facemask on or off is great, has no obstruction to field of view and helps protect from the wind. Its keeping me warm, I’m liking everything about it.

Warm, but some improvements can be made

This is a solid baselayer/sweater that keeps me warm. I could just wear this alone at 40-45 degrees with no issues. That being said, I think 2 improvements can be made: * The length can be longer both in the front and the back. I have a bit of a gut, and I sense that the front of the garment just isn't long enough to be comfortable. It should probably be about 2-3 inches longer in the front and back really. This would allow the baselayer to be tucked in comfortably if desired. * The front pocket is awesome, however it doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the garment. I think it should. . . but perhaps that's a personal preference.

Alaska worthy

After wearing this hoodie a few days this Winter, immediately ordered one for my wife and she also incorporated it into her going out the front door layering system. When it is literally 100°F colder on the other side of the front door, you don’t need good gear, you need great gear. We both have a number of great Sitka garments.

Just right

Wore this on a late season hunt with core lightweight as a base layer. Kept me warm, dry and comfortable through all the temperature changes over the course of the day. Impressed.
