I bought the Back 40,

I bought the Back 40, Hanger, and Dakota pants. All are VERY comfortable and all have a pretty good fit. All are expensive, all are Asian or manufactured over seas someplace which is very disappointing. The Dakota pants seem to be the only one worth the money. They are warm and durable, fit the description and usage. You can save some money on the Back 40 and Hanger pants by going with a nice pair of Carhartt pants or some other brand. The Back 40 snag easily and for the price there are less expensive comparable alternatives. The Hanger pants are a real disappointment. I haven't used them for hunting or walking through fields of brush, if I did they'd be torn to shreds. I've used them for work on the farm and what briar or brush I have encountered has these things picked and snagged all over. They do not fair well. These are not brush pants by any means, work pants are a push, they're just glorified Docker's. Do not recommend.

Under hips or waders when

Under hips or waders when the temps drop, this pant will keep you warm! As well, the construction and fabric is rip and tear resistant like nothing I've seen. Hunting South Texas in between the Dakotas and Arkansas, cactus can be a problem. I went through more than one pair of pants a year from competitors before making the switch. Best thing I ever did! My dad is turning 70 this year and has always been stuck in his old ways, but after he's seen the Sitka lineup and how it holds up season after season, he's convinced and making the switch himself! Sitka isn't a brand, it's a way of life!

This is a great pair

This is a great pair of pants and use them frequently. I am 5'10 / 185 with an athetic build and the 32's fit perfectly. I am oftentimes in between sizes and this one was right on the money. The material is very durable and has a DWR finish. You wont be disappointed with this purchase

Sitka needs to make this

Sitka needs to make this pant in every pattern!!! I own the ESW, Stratus, Apex, Downpour, and Thunderhead pants and the Dakota is by far my favorite. Super comfortable, true to size, and the DWR finish is more than enough to keep me dry hunting in light rain or from drips and splashes paddling through timber looking for woodies. If this pant came in Subalpine and Elevated II I'd buy them in a second.

These bad boys right here

These bad boys right here are the cats meow. I wear a 36 but had to go up to a 38 because they were very tight. Im a farmer in Michigan and wear these pants all the time. Insulated for the cold mornings and with the thigh zippers they dump excess heat fast. When it gets warmer in the middle of the day i leave the zippers undone so i don’t get too hot. My favorite pants made by Sitka that I own.

The Dakota pants are simply

The Dakota pants are simply the best hunting pants I have ever worn. Very warm when the temperature drops but zippered pockets allow for ventilation if necessary. I have worn these beneath my waders and as a stand alone for deer hunting. These pants look and fit great, cant say enough about them.

I did not have these

I did not have these pants for the start of the season, so I only have about 15 days of hunting in them. By far the best waterfowl pant I have ever worn! I hunt in Colorado, where weather conditions change all the time. Teen’s in mornings with high 40’s even 50’s in the afternoon, high winds, dead calm blue bird days, some rain and one day of driven wet snow. They work great in all conditions, I also wear them under waders, very comfortable, these will be my go to pant even for late season. My only complaint is they could use suspenders like the Mountain pant. Would be 5 stars if they did. I love my Sitka gear!

These are truly fantastic pants.

These are truly fantastic pants. I had ordered a Dakota Hoody for my son a year ago and really liked the fabric. When I saw pants made from the same fabric I ordered them immediately. They did not disappoint. They are VERY comfortable, and depending on what you layer underneath, should be very versatile. So far I’ve worn them without another layer and once with a light wool layer. I almost wish I’d ordered the solid color so I could play golf in then when it’s cold.

These are the PERFECT pant

These are the PERFECT pant for waterfowl hunting. They are perfect to wear alone in the early season and I ordered a size up so I could throw some long johns underneath when its cold. After chasing down geese its easy to dump the heat with the zippers. I have worn them under waders and its like wear sweatpants.

Wore these pants for a week long snow goose/dark goose/duck hunt in Saskatchewan Canada. Hunted harvested grain and pea fields. Concealment could not have been better. Absolutely perfect pared with the Dakota Hoodie. Perfect weight for the crisp Saskatchewan mornings. Very comfortable and fit true to size. Another great piece by Sitka!

Absolutely the best mid season pant! I put them to the test this morning here in Oklahoma. It's not even the warmth that i like so much, it's the comfortability!!! You will not be disappointed in these!

These are a great mid

These are a great mid season pant. They are as comfortable as the gradient but not as warm, they are perfect for setting up decoy spreads in the cool mornings or wearing around camp. Perfect if you are looking for something between the Grinder and the Gradient.

The Sitka quality you expect,

The Sitka quality you expect, but perhaps not the Sitka sizing you expect. Think 'heavyweight Grinders', but they run large. I have several pairs of Timberlines in 34R, two pairs of Grinders in 34R, and one pair of Ascents in 34R. Those all fit like they were tailored for me. The Dakotas in 34R that I just ordered, on the other hand, are considerably larger and longer. Suspenders would keep them up, but they aren't made with the suspender loops of the other pants - so I end up with a belt cinched a little too tight to be comfortable or to look good. Consider sizing down, or at least leave the tags on until you're sure you're happy with the fit so that you can return them if necessary.

I could not wait to

I could not wait to get my hands on these. They are heavier than the grinder, but equally as comfortable. I really like the solids, as they have become part of my everyday wardrobe. I can see me wearing these Dakota pants, with a core heavyweight bottom, and never being fazed by cold weather again.
