As advertised

I actually purchased this item as a sun hoodie and bug deterrent for a backpacking trip. It helped wick the sweat just as I’d hoped. Sizing is definitely different from the standard Sitka stuff, which sadly put me directly between sizes. Size down if you don’t like super loose layers, but be ready for a tight fit.

Everything I thought they'd be

I purchased these Equinox Guard Pants - along with the Guard hoody and gloves - for early season archery deer hunting as I was concerned about tick and mosquito bites. The pants fit true to size, and seemed to shed most of the "sticky things" that tend to adhere themselves to clothing while you're moving to and from the blind. They provided the protection from the sun and winged critters I was looking for, fit comfortably, wash up easily, and look great (at least the Mrs. thought so), which made choking down the price tag a little easier. Cry once, amIright? For my stated purposes, they worked great and I highly recommend these pants.

Nice lightweight piece. Didn't have issues with bugs while wearing this item. Would note this item doesn't shed scent well. Does develop some stink on it after a day of use.

Great product, absolutely comfortable. As an outfitter, I have to rely on high quality gear, this one of many Sitka products in my travel set.

Sitka core lightweight hoody

I like the hoody but the XL is way to big. Doesn’t seem to be the standard sizing compared to other products I buy from Sitka. Still a great mid layer just really big.

Great extra piece

I would add this if you are interested in moving a lot. It is very breathable and light weight. I have used this piece quite a bit for scouting in the early season. I would typically wear a large, I did buy an Xl in this. It is slightly big, but I can tuck it in.

Love this piece. Super lightweight yet durable. The facemask inside is useful but not too bulky that it gets in the way. The fact that it has the insect repellent is also a huge bonus

Perfect for dove and early season white tail

The mosquitos in Oklahoma this year were terrible in early October. This hoody allowed me to sit comfortably in an uncomfortable environment.

Fit is way off

I’ve been a huge supporter of Sitka for years, the quality and athletic fit of was always top notch. This hoodie I can’t even wear. The fit is so far off it looks like I stole it out of my dad’s closet. New pair of mountain pants was exactly the same. Your sizing changed please change it back

Received during winter months so havnt had a chance to try out the inspect repellant too much, but the fit is spot on. As always, Sitka’s attention to detail is top notch. Face mask is great. I see myself wearing the from spring turkey all the way through late deer season here in the south. Ticks, chiggers, and mosquitos are real battles here, so look forward to seeing how they do preventing mosquito bits, if that proves to as good as advertised this thing should get 7 star!

I purchased this hoody to help endure the relentless mosquitoes during the early bear hunters season in Wisconsin. It worked great. This is going to get a lot of use turkey hunting and trout fishing as well.

My go to early season hunting top

This hoodie is legit. It is extra stretchy so you can layer over warmer gear as the season goes on. The face mask and hood are great at keeping bugs at bay and scent under control. It is ultra quiet too making it perfect for bow hunting. It has become one of my favorite early season items.

I live in Pennsylvania and since buying this hoody I haven’t had a single tick on season long I’m truly impressed with how well it works. It’s very light weight which I didn’t initially expect but it will be a great outer layer in spring turkey season or early September elk hunts. Works good on mosquitoes too.

This is my second sitka hoody. It is extremely versatile, good for hot and cold weather because of the lightweight hood and face cover. It's like they are not there until you need them. They provide excellent camoflage and insect protection, too. I wear it on every hunt.

Very comfortable! I wore this bow hunting in Kansas as a base layer during the warm days 2nd and 3rd week of November 2023. Super Nice to remove layering and have this hoodie on during the long walk outs from the stand! I need an extra for hanging stands. Also great just for fishing or everyday activities.

Got this for hunting on the Texas coast. Wearing alone during teal and early season it is great. When it’s colder I use it as base layer. Hoodie and face mask is awesome too. It was mosquito proof until washed a couple times. Super thin and lightweight, basically a performance fishing shirt with extras.

East Texas Approved!

I needed a very light, long sleeved, hoody that gave me a barrier to mosquitoes. This has served me well from October to December in East Texas. The hood and face mask are a blessing for when those little buggers try to get your ears. So far, no additional bug repellents or devices needed.

Great Coverup

I have three of these hoodies: two regular and one with Insect Shield. I use them to add the kind of camo I need. Some blinds work best with black outerwear whereas treestands require real camo. I buy them a size larger than I would normally wear so I can slip them on over a light jacket. They're stretchy so this works quite well. Love the built-in face mask.

Great for early season Duck or spring Turkey hunting

Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a hooded early season piece. In the southern region of the country it’s necessary to have bug control. Mosquitos were flying around me all day, but I didn’t have a single bit on me while wearing this piece. It was cool and light weight, exactly what I was looking for.

Guard Hoody for Early September Teal Hunting

Here in Louisiana during Early Teal hunting in September the mosquitoes can be quite unbearable and as well throughout some of the hunting season while the weather pattern is unpredictable as well with warm weather. This year buying the Equinox Gaurd hoody was a must and the mosquitoes barely got to me and so I recommended and bought some for my family and friends and everyone is in love. This little piece of gear can make a hunt so much better and so it has so far this year. Thank you Sitka.

Very good multi-season piece

Great hoodie for dove, early teal, and early archery. . . as well as turkey. For a piece made to be used during high density foliage seasons, it doesn't handle damage from thorns/briars as well as I would hope, but there's only so much durability you can expect from such a lightweight piece. Seems to do its job when it comes to bugs, and is extremely comfortable.

This hoody does a great job at keeping you protected from bugs, the only downside is durability, I had to track down a deer I shot in the thicket not realizing I should have took this hoodie off first, well now its full of holes. Its great protection from bugs but is not durable for the price point, I mean this hoodie cost $150.

Great for hunting in the salt marshes

Runs really big wear a XL in all sitka tops had to return for a L wish is still a little big. Wear in the salt marshes hunting Sika deer works well to keep the skeeters from biting through. Use to wear the core light weight and would get eat up in the shoulders. Not with this.

Great early season hoody

This is not only a great early season hoody, but a great base layer for the whole season as well. It does keep bugs off you. The thumb loops don't dig in when used as a base layer. It does everything advertised and more. Moisture wicking is amazing. It doesn't block wind or water, but it is not meant to. For a budget this is a must get. It has replaced a few of my other tops.
