This Mosquito Screen Works
We recently saw an online video by a Hunter influencer which said this Guard series didn't work. I messaged him and said "What are you talking about? When you wear this hoodie around the campfire, your hands will get bit. I never remember my hands being bit with other garments. The mosquitos are still there, but they will not bite you through this technology. AMAZING.

All time favorite shirt!
This is the perfect shirt to wear in hot weather and keep the bugs away. Lightweight and breathable while keeping bugs from biting. Went through an ag field that had standing water in August, mosquitos were swarming everywhere, and I was the only one without bites on my torso because I was wearing this shirt. I normally wear XL in all my Sitka Gear but L works best for this as a base layer.

Disappointed in the material but excited to test
I’m excited to try my jacket this fall, however I will say I’m a little disappointed in the material. I thought the material was thicker however it is like a dry fit material. It would be good for a very warm fall day but anything below 50 degrees i would imagine I’ll be wearing something warmer. Also, I got a XL and I would say it’s a little bigger than I expected. I’m around 6”1 240lb I’m not sure a large would be a better fit. But the XL is baggy.

Another great Sitka product!
Living on the Kenai Peninsula, we have our share of biting insects to deal with. This hoodie makes it a lot nicer when out and about in the woods and wild areas of the Kenai Peninsula. Great fit and great coverage, packing weight is light enough that it doesn't weigh you down on long hikes. So far, nothing I've ordered from Sitka has let me down. Buy with confidence!

Easy Recommendation
The Equinox Guard Hoodie is extremely lightweight and very comfortable. It has allowed me to shoot wildlife photos where others cannot. I wear a shortsleeved compression shirt underneath and I do get an occasional mosquito bite where there is no second layer, the bite is not a typical mosquito bite. It is more of a “ting”. I will take that to since it allows me to photograph in areas where others are not. The one improvement I would recommend is a longer mask or a way to attract the bottom of the mask inside the hoodie. The mask pulls out from the neck area when I look up and around. SITKA quality and craftsmanship make this an easy recommendation.

Equinox Guard versatile Hoody
An outstanding multi condition addition to Sitka Hoodie lineup. I found this hoodie to be more comfortable in very warm weather when active fly fishing all day used as only garment. The UPF protection worked as advertised. The flexibility when using my arms for the fly casting needed was excellent. Not to “ clingy “ like some other brands warm weather hoodie. Very comfortable material again in contrast to other high level hoodie upf brands I have used. In colder weather I wore this for outdoor 5 mile treks as base layer with other Sitka cold weather hoodie for layering. Was excellent and again no binding and material felt comfortable against my skin even with a couple times two more layers on top at end winter 5 miles treks. I am surprised by the odor control as advertised worked very well on one trip where I wore several days in a row. . also loved the pocket on RHS for glasses or whatever. Not many lightweight hoodies have that. Will wear for bonefishing next year then with layers in heavy winter activity outside and fishing Alaska in remote area coming up as base layer. I bought two more.
