In 25 degree weather all i wear is a hoodie under this and you'll stay warm, even running the boat this jacket is all you need.

Best of All Worlds

In two words, this jacket is bad a$$! It is comfortable, warm, waterproof and stretches in all the right spots! The pockets are placed perfectly and there is no bulk to limit movement! This will be my go to jacket for waterfowling when it gets cold!

Awesome jacket, requires layering for temps 40 or less

As with all Sitka products this jacket is extremely well made. With the goretex technology it is highly water proof and relatively breathable. The rubber gaskets on the end of the sleeves actually work quite well when cinched down. The shell pockets are good sized and the chest pockets are a comfortable place to hang out. The cellphone pocket on the inside of the jacket is a little small but phone sizes are highly variable year to year. Biggest complaint is that for the money it is not that warm. Given the price point I figured it would be warmer. It is advertised as 3/5 on the warmth scale. I ordered this jacket online and did not try it on in store so there is ownership on me. I am 6’1” 215 lbs so don’t get cold easy but to be comfortable in the duck blind for 3-4 hours if its 30-40 degrees I am wearing my ambient jacket underneath with two other merino base layers as well. If you are hunting ducks anywhere where you experience near or subfreezing temperatures, which is most hunters, I would recommend a warmer jacket. Additionally, as all products are field tested it would be informative if Sitka could recommend a temperature range for products in a static setting in addition to the bar scale. Ultimately I wish would have purchased the Boreal Jacket instead of this Hudson. Once again, on me for not going to a store and putting eyes on it myself. Great product that works well on its own for early season hunts here in Western Washington and with layers for later on in the season. I will continue to recommend and exclusively purchase Sitka for waterfowl hunting gear/clothes.

Broken zipper

We got this for our son for Christmas. He loves it but we’ve had issues with the zipper and now it broke.

The first day out with it it was pouring rain and was about 33 degrees. Needless to say that I was dry and warm with my duck oven base layer. It really is a great windbreaker and rain coat, I am out on the water most of the duck season on the NE coast and you know the winds we get here. I do not hesitate to go anymore in inclement weather in fear of being wet and cold. I am 5’7” and 185. I bought the jacket in an xl and wear with a base jacket and it fits perfectly with no draft issues. I will be outdoors 26 year old son with Sitka as gifts for his birthday and different holidays.

Tough Jacket

This is one tough jacket. I've hit it on tree branches while driving the boat. Slip on ice in a duck blind and roughed it up but no damamge to the jacket. I'm 6'2 and 215lbs. The large tall fits great.

This is the best cold

This is the best cold weather outer layer that I’ve ever had! It stops the wind and rain; it’s durable, breathable, and doesn’t restrict range of motion. In subzero temperatures I layered it over merino 330 base layer and a traverse jacket, which kept me warm all day!

Ordered the medium and has held up in this odd California waterfowl season. Lowest temp I have used in so far was high 40s light wind and heavy cloud cover. Just barely missed the rain on that day. No issues shouldering the shotgun with the jacket on over a midweight zip T and the 330 core hoody on under it. Wish the sleeves were not as long as the are but that could just be me having short arms. I usually have to look for it the night before hunt day since my boy seems to be wearing it too.

After much debate of talking to other hunters and looking at other brands I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the Hudson. I’m impressed with the overall quality and look forward to putting it to the test. I hated to spend the money but wanted something that would last and would truly keep me warm. I’m glad I did it.

Replacing the icon

My Columbia omni-quad parka finally became unservicable igniting The search for a worthy replacement. I finally settled on the Hudson and so far I am very pleased. It is comfortable. It is warm and appears to be very durable. The one huge advantage this has over the old Columbia is the bulk or lack thereof. The jacket has a lot of features and so far I'm very happy with my purchase.

We hunt in all weather

We hunt in all weather conditions. The guys in the Sitka gear were the only people that stayed dry. Excellent quality and a comfortable fit. Not too bulky with plenty of insulation against the cold temps.

Hands down the best waterfowl jacket I've owned. Doing alot of hunting on the Texas Coast, it cuts the wind on cold boat rides but also doesn't burn you up when throwing out decoys. Fits true to size.

This jacket is amazing. It sheds rain and keeps you dry. It protects you from the wind while duck hunting. I highly recommend this jacket if you do late season duck hunting in colder temperature areas.

Amazing Jacket

This jacket is amazing! Very well built and seems very sturdy so far! The jacket is warm and has insulation. The insulation is not too thick and doesn’t obstruct mobility. This jacket is also very wind proof adding to its ability to keep you warm. As Sitka does, each layer is slightly larger to accommodate layering underneath, this outer piece is no different. Allows for plenty of room to layer. The goretex works great as well keeping you dry in the rain. This jacket is always in my pack every time I hit the marsh!
