almost perfect
Great jacket! The side pockets are lined with very soft fleece that keeps your hands warm. You don't feel the chill from cold air because of windstopper fabric. The jacket is comfortable and allows for light layering. I would say this runs a little larger than true to size but I would not size-up. I would not hunt or hike in areas with lots of branches and thorns, it wasn't made for that purpose, the fabric will eventually tear. The hood will fit medium sized heads but will be restrictive for larger heads. The biggest cons of this jacket are the drawstrings for the hood and neck and the sitka tag that sits behind your neck. The plastic ends of the drawstring are poorly manufactured and have sharp parts that will scratch and irritate your skin. The sitka tag can also irritate your skin because it is too rigid. You could cut them out if they bother you but hopefully sitka works with the vendor to improve their manufacturing standards for the plastic parts and they switch to a softer fabric or material for their tags.

The jacket is very lightweight and comfortable. Worn over shirt or lightweight sweater it has a comfortable fit. I am Not sure it would if one was layering for colder weather due to the size of the arm holes. All in all a great looking jacket of excellent quality! Exactly what I have come to expect from Sitka

Warm and Dry
1st outing in this jacket was to the HS girls state soccer championship game. Weather was cool when I left home but quickly changed to wind and rain. I thought I was underdressed but this jacket blocked the wind and shed the rain. I was dry and warm all game. Hawks took the title 2nd year in a row!

Great windproof puffy
I’ve always loved a puffy jacket for warmth, but when the wind picks up the puffy alone wasn’t always enough. Leave it to Sitka to solve that problem. The temps just began dropping in the mornings in Colorado and I’ve taken the ridgeland jacket out for a spin and it is warm. Morning walk with a t-shirt and this jacket and I was warm. The fuzzy hand pockets are a nice touch and warm as well. The classic fit easily allows for a hoody underneath. My only wish is that you could choose a different camo pattern for the accents, I’m a dork for sub alpine.
