Great pack for Waterfowl

Pack is awesome. Plenty of room for multiple boxes of shells, toboggan, neck gaiter, headlamps, etc. I also utilize this pack whitetail hunting and it fits a full spray bottle scent lock along with plenty of room for binoculars and other gear.

This is the best backpack I have ever owned. I have tried drake and banded but the construction of the timber pack is far superior. I have often used a carabiner to attach 2 dozen decoys to it and have not experienced any stretch or loose threads. Only complaint is the outside zip pockets could be a little larger.

I really wanted to like this backpack

The fit and function and storage capabilities of this pack are excellent. BUT it’s not even close to water resistant, which is mandatory for a duck hunting pack. My zipped up timber pack rolled forward on the riverbank and the top half was very briefly on the water before I quickly stood it back up. All my gear on the inside was soaked and I had a small amount of water sitting in the bottom of the bag. This pack is a great design, but needs to be made waterproof, especially for $250. Don’t waste your money on this if you duck hunt regularly.

Timber Pack

I absolutely love this Timber Pack, I had purchased 2 of them. This may sound funny but, one is for hunting and the other is used as a Diaper Bag for my baby boy. Once he gets older that bag will become his hunting pack! It has all the room you need, it has definitely taken a beating.. from getting soaked, stepped on, stepped on. This bag can take it all and I definitely recommend it!

Awesome product, very sturdy as

Awesome product, very sturdy as always with this brand. The only thing to keep in mind is this is definitely NOT water resistant at all, not even this cell phone pocket it says in description. I went duck hunting last weekend of duck season while it was raining, and everything inside of every pocket was completely soaked when we were finished. But cleaning the mud was a breeze, comes off with a hose instantly, overall very happy with it since i dont plan on hunting in the rain again

I’ve hunted with this pack

I’ve hunted with this pack for 3 years now and I will say I’ve been happy with how it’s held up. I’ve never had an issue with stuff inside getting wet, never noticed any leaks, zippers have lasted just fine. However during the last weekend of season, I had the tree strap buckle break on me while tightening it. Luckily it was zipped close and nothing got wet. I emailed Sitka about it and had a new buckle in days. My only reason for not giving this pack 5 stars is I feel the buckles should be metal or something more durable but other than that I’ve been happy.

Good idea just very disappointed

Good idea just very disappointed with the quality especially considering the price. Main zipper gets stubborn and often stuck after the first few uses. When I went to use it in the timber for the first time the buckle completely broke where the strap weaves through dropping my gun and bag with it. I like the zipper pocket layout and the rubber bottom but fundamentally it needs to be re done with better zippers and a one piece metal buckle. Do not recommend purchasing this product.

- Good size, good pocket

- Good size, good pocket structure - Only the bottom is waterproof, your stuff will get wet if it rains. - Backpack strap buckle was very difficult - Main zipper broke after 2 years Decent bag but not worth $220

I have a timber pack

I have a timber pack and love it, one of the best things Sitka makes I think and extremely versatile! I really think this should be sold in the other patterns, or at least solids. I do see the disadvantage it could have in white tail hunting allowing for some noise but outside of that I think it would do great in the subalpine pattern.

This thing has taken a

This thing has taken a lots of abuse and keeps going. It gets chunked in the bottom of the boat, stepped on, slept on by the dog, soaked, you name it and it still works daily. I wish there was a little more compartments on the inside, put it on my back day in and day out during the migration haul.

I'm leaving this review for

I'm leaving this review for my dad. Last year he lost his phone to getting wet in his pack and he's never been the one to buy big brand fancy stuff. Well, he pulled the trigger this year and bought this sitka pack only after he contacted sitka about its effectiveness at repelling water. They said rain wouldn't be a problem for it and they can't say water proof because of the zipper. He was so excited about it he couldn't contain himself. Welp, first time using it in the rain, all his gear inside was wet. Even the 'waterproof' phone pouch was wet.

This pack is not water

This pack is not water proof or very water resistant. The buckle on the tree strap is 1/2 metal, leaving the plastic piece to break easily. I am currently in process of replacing the buckle. The bottom half of pack is nice and durable, but a lot of straps that take up space and get tangled. I own a lot of sitka gear, this is my least favorite Item I own.

I'm a blind bag junkie. I've owned them all, but this pack is my cure. It is all I need from blind, boat or standing in timber. Its one of my favorite pieces of gear.

Hunting the timber the other

Hunting the timber the other day and the buckle on my tree strap broke. I filled out the warranty on the website and Sitka sent me another buckle. Very pleased with the bag and service from Sitka. This is my go to bag; it is used year round. Very spacious and comfortable to wear.

All in all this is

All in all this is a great pack and I love it. That’s said, there are a few tweaks I hope they will eventually consider for this pack. Below in order of importance to me. 1. The bottom needs to be more rigid for standing, it does stand on its own but easily topples over, especially if packed imbalanced. I realize it’s key function is strapping to a tree and for that purpose the bottom rigidity doesn’t matter, however, it would be more dual purpose for blind hunting if it could stand better. 2. Dedicated hard sunglasses pocket accessible from outside pack. 3. Made of more water resistant material in the upper area (like full choke) 4. The Molle loops near the bottom of the pack are so low on the pack they’re really useless. 5. Material inside pockets shouldn’t be bright white. 6. I’m nit-picking at this point, the zipper for the main large compartment gets hung up a little when making the sharp corners. Not sure how to overcome this, maybe add a little more radius to the turn. With the above corrections it would be absolutely perfect. It holds a ton, caries very comfortably, and seems to be very well made. For $230 the above adjustments would make it worth the price more...

This pack will continue to

This pack will continue to be my go-to backpack for waterfowl. Spacious inside allows for plenty of gear and padding provides comfort on the long hauls into the marsh. I like it so much that it even comes to work with me. Great product once again!

This pack far exceeded my

This pack far exceeded my expectations to say the least. It kept my camera equipment and the rest of my gear completely dry hunting 40 days straight in Arkansas this past season. After several falls, I thought surely my gear is soaked. Nope. In my eyes, this product is worth its weight in gold. I will never go back to the traditional over the shoulder, leaky blind bag. Also, being a pack and allowing proper weight distribution with straps it allows you to carry more gear, and weight with less effort with your free hands. 10/10 product.

I rarely review products but

I rarely review products but figured guys would like to hear this. I went on a sea diver hunt yesterday off the coast of NC. The guide assured us even with winds at 20 knots we would be safe. Shortly after leaving the dock the boat started taking on water from waves. My Sitka Timber pack was buried under 5 guns and several other blind bags. Once we finally made it back to shore as the boat was sinking. My timber pack was under salt water. I knew everything it is was ruined. We got all the gear out and checked. Guns soaked, all ammo in other blind bags soaked. However everything in my Timber pack was bone dry. Timber pack saved Cell Phone, Car Keys, And 100’s of dollars worth of shells.

The quality of this bag

The quality of this bag is way beyond most other brands. The straps are sturdy, as is the rest of the bag. The waterproof bottom keeps your stuff dry. I have used it hunting in flooded timber and boat blinds without any issues.

Best waterfowl pack I have

Best waterfowl pack I have found. I have been using this for over two years for walk in, layout, and a few flooded timber hunts and have been nothing short of impressed. It carries plenty for all day hunts, to include strapping on the waders for those long walk in hunts. The ability to have it in a layout boat and not be concerned about the bottom being soaked from sitting in standing water is awesome. This will be in my quiver for many years.

I was very skeptical at

I was very skeptical at first because it was far from what I have been used to in the Flooded Timber. 50 Days into a intense hunting season I can say this is a must have in the timber hunting packs. Great to always clip around a tree and not have to hang a hook somewhere. Strap this around tree and it will hold your gun and ducks all on one system. Also the duck strap hanger is well thought out in every aspect. Love to see this in field camp also as I take mine to the pit or blind also. STRONG!! how strong well let me tell you. I carried two limits of specks and ducks on my one pack hanging off the hooks and nothing failed. Quality is superb.

Just took this bag to

Just took this bag to Alaska on a sea duck hunt. Kept my ammo dry and gear organized. Made a great back pack on the long flights as well. Love how the zippers are set up to get easy access to all sections of the bag. Now build this in marsh please!

The strap plastic end buckle

The strap plastic end buckle breaks if you pull it tight and in waist deep water that's a disaster. Great pack otherwise. I've been trying to get a replacement buckle from Sitka since February and they don't have them in stock....

Best bag for my style

Best bag for my style of hunting in the flooded rice fields. My shells and other gear stayed dry during the heavy rains this year. You can’t pass this one up. It has a nice fit and the room is perfect for all my gear.

Perfect blind bag.. Keep everything

Perfect blind bag.. Keep everything dry even in standing water. I was sick of my gloves and facemask in my backpack getting wet. That no longer happens with this pack. Very rugged and we'll made. The dead bird straps are handy and the back straps are comfortable.

Amazing backpack. I have gone

Amazing backpack. I have gone through multiple packs and frustrated with wet gear or forgetting a tree hook. This does it all. Only thing I want more of are the accessory gun hooks for my gear. Everyone wants one once they see it in action.
