Very warm jacket without the bulk. I wore this in 28 degree weather with 7 inches of snow and wasn’t cold. Also, the jacket was waterproof enough that the snow never made it wet.

I got to use this hoody for one full season and I love it. I'm 5'10' 170lbs athletic build. I have it in a medium. The sleeve length is great bc I do have longer arms. The body size is slimmer but I can still layer fine. I've really got a use for this in my sitka system from layering to only outer jacket. I love it. So quite and warm too

Annoying cut/fit but fantastic quality and design. These are cut for un-athletic average joes. Specifically the armpit/shoulder area is super tight. I am 6’ ,175 and athletic. The large is super tight in the armpits, it will take some getting used to, but if I size up the belly will be huge. Since I bought it on sale I’m still very happy with it because of great quality and features. Would not pay full price due to the fit though.

This jacket is killer. I consider this a jacket but it's truly a next level hoody. I have used it as my outer layer hunting but I mainly use this as my outer layer for everyday use. It is extremely comfortable and very warm. It is quiet enough to hunt in and is a great layer for extreme cold. Depending on what size you choose it can be very versatile. I normally wear medium but chose to get a large to be able to layer beneath. I will be getting a medium to use a mid layer because it would be perfect under any outer shell. I say get one in a size up and get one in your normal size. It will be the most used Sitka piece you own. I am 5'9', 160 lbs.

I got this one in Storm for wearing out and about, not for hunting. It's incredible. The medium is a big big on me (5'8, 155, distance runner), but not so much that it looks weird - it just doesn't fit how I generally prefer things to fit. With that said, this jacket is amazing. It's warm enough to wear over a thin shirt when it's between 35 and 55 degrees, which in the DC Metro region, covers a good chunk of the year. You'd need more in the snow, but that's not what this is built for. My favorite part is that there's no 'swooshy' sound when you move - none. It's silent. My least favorite part is the thumb holes - they're poorly designed and cut into the webbing of your thumb when utilized, so that's a function I'll just ignore. No reason to take off a star, though. It's just an option I don't use.

So far I love this hoodie. The attention to the small details are what make it an outstanding piece of kit. The sherpa lining in the pockets, the venting section under the arms, and the integrated mask/low profile hood are awesome. I wore it on the hike in as well as throughout the hunt. I got a little warm while climbing the tree but the little sweat I worked up wicked away quickly and didn’t leave me feeling damp and cold. There are a few minor points that I would love to see improve. For instance, the lack of a port for a safety line forced me to wear this under my fall arrest harness. In addition, the mask vents warm air straight up into my eyes. Wearing glasses personally this means fogging, for contact wearers likely dry eyes. Finally, the material offers virtually no resistance to the wind. This is great when you’re working hard and need to vent heat, not great when the wind picks up after you’ve cooled down and are sitting in the stand for a few hours. Of course other pieces of kit can fix most of my complaints, but I like to buy and more importantly pack in only what I absolutely MUST.

This is a great made hoody. Not sure why it’s classified as a hoody? It’s more like a jacket that has a hood. I wear it as an outer layer and it has kept me warm in extremely low temps. It sheds light rain very well. I hunted in a lite steady rain recently and when I took the hoody off my next layer was bone dry. I highly recommend the Traverse Hoody. Pair it with the Traverse bibs are your good to go.

Fit information: I am 5'10, 150, slim build. I ordered a medium and it fits me very well but naturally its a little broad in the shoulders. It doesn't look bad with the shoulder fit, I'm used to that problem with outer layers. Color: I got the lead grey color. It is a very nice slate grey color and there isn't an obnoxious amount of branding on it. (I personally am not a fan of a lot of branding as I don't like my items to get stolen) Comfort: 10/10, like wearing a hoodie/pull-over. Not too heavy. Durability: this is not a Gortex jacket, treat it like you would a normal hoodie/pull-over. Although it is much more snag resistant and durable than a normal hoodie/jacket. The main zipper and the zippers on the pockets are very durable but they aren't too stiff. The zippers are a (very durable) plastic composite which prevents freezing zippers. I have been using it for about a month during winter and haven't had any durability issues. Waterproof: *water resistant* if its light or medium rain, the jacket repels the water nicely but it will start to retain water after a few minutes. However, it dries extremely fast. Being out in rain for 10-15 minutes I haven't ever gotten wet underneath the jacket. I haven't tested it much beyond that. Warmth: maintains body heat well and will warm you up some. It has good & comfortable supplemental heat but it wont compare to a true arctic coat. Wind: this is the stickler. If you are wearing this in mild weather (40-50 F) wind shouldn't be too much of a problem. I am very cold by nature and I tend to only get major wind chills through this jacket when wind-chill is around freezing (32 F) or below. That is with short sleeve shirt and no gloves. If you have a long sleeve shirt and gloves, I would say that this jacket is pretty good for temps around 35 F with low/mild gusts. My biggest piece of advice is don't expect this jacket to be fully waterproof or wind resistant or you will be disappointed. As I said before, compare this to a normal hoodie/jacket that provides extra warmth and durability. However, coupled with the right layers/gear this is a great piece for a lot of scenarios.

Another great Sitka product. I am 6’ 210lbs and typically wear a L, which fit here as well. Prefer more of a tailored fit to ensure everything layers correct. The XL just seems to give more room in the gut. Not sure if sizing changed, but my Jetstream jacket from 2015 is XL but fits more tailored. Anyway, love the hoody. A bit snug in armpits, but can stretch that a bit relieve tension. Layers well with lightweight hoody and heavyweight hoody for cold temps. Thumb holes done well.

This is a great product that does everything it’s supposed to and more. We recently had record low single digit and below zero temps with even colder wind chills (-15 to -25) in an area of the country that NEVER gets that cold. I wore this jacket outside for a couple of hours and didn’t get cold at all. I probably wouldn’t use it as my primary jacket without another layer in an all-day tree stand hunt in those temps, but wouldn’t hesitate with an added wind-blocking layer. Another great Sitka product. Caveat: I lived in upstate NY for a while and have felt -40 degree actual temps and even lower with wind chill, so single digits don’t feel all that cold to me anymore. I also generally run very hot compared to the normal person, so my experience may be an outlier. I would still highly recommend it to others, though, as this jacket wasn’t meant for below zero temps. Just wanted to share my experience on the further end of the spectrum as a reference point.

I have several Sitka pieces, this is great but for some reason runs a bit smaller than my other pieces, rides up and tight in the armpits. The face mask that's built into the hood is also tight, don't think I'll be using it anytime soon. I'm a small guy, 5'6', 120 lbs, and can sometimes get away with buying kids sizes for reference.

Super Warm. I am 5'11 170 pounds and the large fits perfect. Anything between 30-40 degrees this jacket is perfect. If the temp drops below 30, I wear this hoody with my Fanatic jacket and never get cold. The material is also really quiet.

This is a good overall jacket. This took the place of the very poorly designed celsius midi jacket. This is warmer, fits better and is much more resistant to wear. The only draw back is there's no safety harness pass through. Very unacceptable in todays hunting market.

The Traverse Hoody is an awesome layering piece in my Sitka arsenal. The fall/winter air where I'm at is super dry. I wear this hoody on most hunts over a Heavyweight Hoody and under a Delta jacket. Last week I was out in -17 and wore this under a Boreal jacket and was toasty. This hoody breathes great - walks to/from the blind, busting ice, dragging a boat - I don't ever overheat in it.

Overall, I like this jacket and will/do use it in the season. I'm not a huge fan of how stiff and bulky it feels and how the hood sits when not wearing the mask. On it's own, this jacket is not great for any kind of low temperatures but paired with a windbreaker or the kelvin aerolite hoody it actually does feel quite nice and warm. I like the thumb holes, and when wearing the mask it is all very snug and form fitting. The insulation is a little scratchy at first but that is to be expected.

The fabric collar of this redesigned garment is attached to the fleece hood, with a strip of tape… which is ridiculous for Sitka to think tape would actually hold onto a fleece. It arrived with that tape failing and coming apart right out of the bag. My other/older traverse hoodie has an actual collar, not just a piece of fabric taped to the fleece hood. I hope this isn’t a sign of diminishing quality of the future of Sitka. I pay for quality, no matter the cost. I refuse to pay for cheap quality trash. I love my other traverse hoodie, but this new traverse hoodie will be returned, for I will not accept the trash quality of the collar.
