So I grew up hunting and fishing which led me to a career as a federal wildlife biologist. Since I have spent and continue to spend the bulk of my time outdoors, I was intrigued with SITKA’s concept of “turning clothing into gear”, which in my opinion they have done. I own a lot of their speciality gear to help me enjoy my outdoor pursuits (kind of like using the right club on the golf course). I’ve been so pleased with the “gear” to hunt and fish now I’m buying from the “everyday” line for both my wife and I because of the quality, fit, and functionality. A recent purchase was the Wheatland Beanie (in starlight). It was on sale so I included it in an order. It fits both of us, (so true OSFA), is low bulk (but warm and comfortable) and can easily be stuffed in a pocket when not needed). I personally rather the appearance of these over other style beanies. Bottomline, like most Sitka gear, it’s a good combination of simple form and function, and to me is just as applicable whether I’m in the boat, working on tree stands, walking the dogs, or traveling when it’s chilly. I gave it four stars just because it takes a lot for me to give five. I can say this I will have others in the drab colors (like Earth).
