Feels like wearing air. Much improved design over the previous Ambient hoody & jacket: arm cuffs and bottom hem are tapered with a slimmer hem; and the elastic cord & cord locks were removed from bottom hem. Very nice on their own, under a vest or to augment a Jetstream jacket for colder weather.

I really wanted to give this 5 stars; however, within the first two days of light wear around town, it was already beginning to pile on the exterior. A little piling isn’t a huge deal to me… but it does raise some concerns about the long term durability of it.

If somebody were to ask me which Sitka item to buy for the first one, I’d recommend the Ambient. I have 3 of them in multiple colors/patterns. Super light yet very warm. I’d love Sitka to make an Ambient pant for glassing or in the stand for the in between temps.

For a $300 jacket you would think that it would be durable. It catches and snags on everything, from branches to just fingernails and when it does this it pulls on the seam and rips. It's ridiculous, this jacket was worn hunting one time and looks like it is years old.

I wore this last night on a Christmas light tour on a golf cart. It was in the 40's and windy along the bay front. I was shocked at how well it blocked the wind.
