Got to use these on a cold elk hunt that ended up being more active than anticipated. Started with them on and they did their job of keeping me warm. We spotted cow elk across a canyon and got to chasing them down. After about a mile, I was too hot. I was able to shed these things quick and lost no time. Perfect addition to my gear.

Not sure why these aren’t full length. I suppose because they are zippers nobody wants to untie their boots to get them off or the zipper line would be uncomfortable tucked into boots. Fit loose. Wouldn’t buy another pair for the money

I recomend these zip off bottoms, I hike in to my stand and once I get there. I don't have to take off pants to put bottoms on. They keep me warm enough that I don't have to carry my insulated bibs.

The zip off design is handy. They zippers could land somewhere better for the sake of rubbing. As for the warmth this is a decent piece. The material feels slick enough to go under other pants without hanging. The ankle part flares out for pretty fat calves and is a bit awkward compared to rest of the fit.

I've always cut my long johns to just above or below my knees so these are everything I ever dreamed of! The zip off feature was HUGE during a recent stay at a Forest Service cabin. Fits great, the zippers are ergonomic and out of the way, but easy to use when you're putting them on or taking them off. Warmth wise, they're about what I expected. Under the timberline's, they're too warm to hike in, but too cold to glass in unless I add a puffy. Perfect for low output still hunting in cold, but not terribly windy conditions which is what I got em for. 6'3, 210, 33/34 pants, the large fit well.

I always struggled with socks under LJ's or other way around, and frequently when I sat down they pulled tight on my legs. Both problems solved! This simple yet brilliant design prevents the sock/LJ/boot tangling, yet provides warmth where needed, and has the additional benefit of being easily removable. I wondered about the comfort of zippers, but they have covered the areas that might irritate with strategically placed cloth. 6 stars deserved!

I just wish they offered these without the zip off option. I bought these to wear when skiing and fly fishing - two sports that involve relatively high boots. that zipper lives right around the area where your ski boots or wading boots ride which I can occasionally feel digging in but overall they're pretty nice base layers

I purchased these for a passive, treestand style Iowa archery hunt, temps in the low 30s in the mornings and 50s in the afternoons. These were a perfect weight combined with the Stratus pants for these conditions. Mid-day I took advantage of the full zips to remove w/o having to take boots off. I look forward to using these in a western hunting application. I can see starting off with these from a spike camp/glassing point and unzipping them when things start getting more, warming up midday. Solid product.

Got these for 2nd rifle in Colorado for an Elk hunt at about 11,000ft. Weather was unusually warm this year and I didn't need to use them. However, from experience in military I know that being able to remove these on the fly/'in the field' makes life much easier when going from a cold early morning to a warmer afternoon. Essentially, the zip-off feature makes these usable in a much wider variety of climates than traditional base layers. If you want/need a base layer, then you might as pay a little more and get the zip-off feature.
