I love these, they can't

Great for adding warmth on colder hunts.
These are a really great way to add some extra warmth when running a lighter weight soft shell pant, I will say though after three days of wearing them on a 12 day spring bear hunt they did start to get a little stretched out. Nothing horrible and I kinda expected this from merino wool but something to keep in mind if your gonna use them multiple days hunting. I wear a med/large in most pants and ordered these in both a medium and large size, the medium is a little snug and the large a little baggy but either overall fit good. For reference I’m 5’9” 195lbs crossfit type athletic build with large thighs.

Warm and functional.
These are great, I whore them a bunch on a November mule deer hunt, it rained every single day so I was living in my rain gear. I was able to put them on in the morning for slow glassing sessions then drop my pants to quickly remove them before heavy hiking. I am 5'9" 190lbs muscular crossfit type build and bought these in a size medium BUT should have bought large. I whore these under Stone Glacier M7 insulated rain pants and the combo was amazing during 42-25 deg weather.

Breathable and Adaptable
6'0, 185lb, Size L. Being able to start the day with baselayer and shed easily when it gets warm is better than I expected. No hassle with boots when putting on/off. You can also use them as you would a puffy pant of sorts. Obviously not as warm but, gives you a little warmth once you get past the "hiking" phase of your hunt. Busting briskly into the woods a ways to get to a squirrel spot then, put the Core Merino zip off on to sit/walk slow. Take them off to hustle back to the truck. I find they are breathable enough to wear during most cool weather moving style hunts. The purgatory of too hot/too cold doesn't seem to exist with these. Having a merino/synthetic blend like those seem to work better for me. When used 60° and below, I have been just fine not getting too warm. I would wear them for the 60° but, if a chilly morning leads into a 60° day, I didn't find I needed to take them off. Practice zipping on and off at home. It's kinda confusing until you do it a couple times.

Love these zip off 330 bottoms.
Got them last week. I wore them twice this past weekend when temps dipped down into the 20’s in Am and warmed up to upper 50’s in PM. Super warm under my stratus bibs. Zipped them off on stand at 11:30pm when temps started warming up. Never had to take bibs or my rubber boots off. Plus the way the zippers come to the front up by waist. Zero hot spots walking. Im 200’lbs and 5’10. I always wear Large in Sitka. These fit perfect 10 out of 10 for me

These things rock
Love the length so there isn’t any extra bulk on the lower legs with tall socks. The ability to remove the layer when needed with out removing boots or even putting on when it’s time for a long sit is amazing. The zippers don’t feel like they’re there at all. Definitely a win on there!

Why didn't someone think of this sooner.
These is are better than sliced bread. You can add or remove a heavy pair of long John's without taking off your boots. A layering wonder. They are very comfortable. The zippers are well laid out. You don't feel them at all.

Zip-off bottoms
Great thermals. Live the zip-off feature. Wanted something that I could wear all day but yet be easy to remove when it got too hot, without having to take off my boots or pants completely. You might think the 330 gr would be too heavy for most hunts, but being able to zip them on and off with ease makes it a game changer! They hold in your heat well and wick sweat with ease. I’m 5’8”, 260 lbs. Bought the XL at first but was too baggy in the calf’s and not tight enough around the waist to stay up. Returned and got a large and they fit much better.

Sitka is one of those few remaining brands that delivers noticably higher quality products, which justifies the prices. Stratus jacket and stratus pants outer layer (windstopper), traverse jacket mid layer (fleece), heavy merino top and 3/4 bottoms base layer (wool blend), tool bucket bag, traverse gloves, and stratus beanie. Best Sitka Item I've Bought Yet
As the title says, these are the best item I've bought from Sitka yet. These zip off bottoms were comfortable while wearing them and I don't notice the zipper at all. They are plenty warm in the cold mornings while moving a little or even sitting still in a blind, but they breathe so well that I didn't have to take them off to walk out of the blind when the temps had gone from the 20s to the 50s in mid day. When I did have to take them off, the zippers were smooth and easy, and they worked just as well to put them back on the same way later in the evening when things started cooling down.

My new favorite bottoms
These zip off bottoms is one of my top three purchases this year. When elk hunting it was so nice to be able to take them off without taking my boots off. The other boat is their three-quarter link so you just tuck them into your socks and you’re good.

Great base layer
I’ve been wearing these in late season moose and white tail hunts this year and I’m very pleased with the cut and warmth also they can be removed or put on without completely removing your pants/boots. The 330 merino is very effective in temps under 30deg paired with late season pants.

Good to see Sitka introducing Merino into their products. The 330 baselayers are great. Was concerned how the zips would feel on the belt line but very comfortable. Being able to add/remove on the fly has proven very handy. 3/4 length is good for layering under socks and tall boots.
