It's not just about the jacket.
So this review is not just about the jacket but the company as well. I purchased a Delta jacket in Marsh probably a good ten plus years ago. I wear it 10 to 20 times a year, hunt, train the dog, around town. In the last year it started to wet thru. I tried a couple of gore tex washes to try and revitalize the jacket. It didn't work. So I contacted Sitka customer service and told them of my wows. They said send it back to us. I figured a ten plus year jacket worn pretty good..not beat on but well used. I might get a credit from them. Well I guess they put it thru their testing system. Lo and behold they sent me a new jacket. This morning I wore it training the dog in the rain. Once again I was dry on the inside. This is well thought out piece for the waterfoweler and rain jacket for about town. Great pockets, large inside chest zip with waterproof pouch. Love the high zip collar and oversized hood. The one miss from the old version is removal of the pit zips. Sitka was probably thinking duck hunters probably don't walk much. But when you use it for upland hunting I miss being able to dump some under arm heat. I would still buy this jacket. I've been buying Sitka Gear since the second year they were in business. I have in excess of twenty pieces. Yes it's pricey. Yes you can find something else for less. But what you won't find somewhere else is a company that stands behind it's product long after the warranty is gone and without a bunch of run around. These days I pretty much have all their gear I need. But if I was in the market to buy new gear there's only company I would buy...Sitka. PS. I am 5'8" - 200 Bills. The XL is a little long in the sleeves but the chest is great and it allows for some layering when needed.
