A great pick up for mid season as a single layer or additional layer in late season. Waterfowl hunt all over Texas and during late season with the big cold front in the last weekend of season the duck oven LT was perfect with a core and aerolite vest under. It’s same material as the duck oven but just a bit less bulkier from a little less insulation but still the warmest jacket you’ll have in your gear rotation. Highly recommend for someone who hunts in the mid-late season when temps drop to the 20s and 30s.

This is literally the best piece of waterfowl clothing I own. Soft Sherpa, through pocket, large hood, and it performs great in the elements by keeping you dry and breaking the wind. My only complaint was the shipping, probably due to my anticipation of wearing it! It has been my go to hoodie when heading outside to walk the dogs when temps are under 30 degrees. I spend most of my fishing on the rivers chasing fish all winter and this hoodies is a great fit. I adjust my layers depending on what the expected temps will be. When in the teens I layer with a puff jacket and a turtle neck. This combo keeps me comfortable and warm. It has held up well and also does a great job of breaking the wind. I do cover it with a rain coat if the weather gets wet. It does have some water proofing to it - when it is drizzling or lighter rain conditions. I highly recommend this hoodie if you spend anytime outdoors and need something warm, dry, and to help cut the wind. Thank you Sitka!

Let me start off by saying this is an amazing hoodie. Had they had a tall size available I would’ve given this thing 5 stars. It is deceptively warm given how thin it is. The gortex is truly wind proof and that makes a world of difference on comfort and warmth. I love the pockets, the large kangaroo pouch is very handy. As I said above I gave this 4 stars because of the sizing. The 2xl fit me alright around my gut and in the shoulders, but it was short and the sleeves were also short. I sized up to the 3xl and it fit really well despite being a bit baggy now. The shortness I could live with because I wore this with bibs 90% of the time so it’s understandable on the length. The sleeves being too short about had me not buying it initially. Speaking of sleeves I like the angle cut on the cuffs and they are not super restrictive in the shoulder area. I had pretty well full range of motion the entire time. Which is important for what I bought it for. I bought this along with some of the heavy weight socks, the gradient cold weather bibs and a set of the delta hunting waders. I wore that combo pretty well every day over the winter trapping season while I was checking my traps in and around my ponds. I was frequently in and out of the water and that combo kept me very warm. I could have water turning to ice on the outside of the hoodie from me getting into the water to sort out my beaver traps and I was still warm. Now is it completely waterproof? No, but it doesn’t have to be. That’s what my waders were for. This does a very good job of being water resistant though and having the water bead up on the outside of the hoodie was nice because I would just shake my arms and the vast majority of the water just shake off. This thing is amazing for its size and didn’t hinder my movements at all setting traps or punching holes in ice whenever I needed to. It’s also fairly lightweight so I didn’t feel like I dragging around a bunch of extra weight when walking the trap line. I honestly like this thing enough that I had heavily considered buying this in the solid coyote color and keeping it to wear around town and to work and leaving my Carhartt super dux jacket at home unless it was really cold. If they made it in the tall sizes I might’ve actually done it. All in all though this is amazing for being somewhat active in down even into the teens with the combo I was wearing with it. If I was wearing it in a duck blind not moving around I might need something a little thicker, but for my needs this thing was about perfect.
