Fanatic Fan

I've had my Fanatic gear for several years now. I am an absolute fan. If you have a fairly long hike to get to your stand, you may consider packing the Fanatic gear in and getting dressed at your stand. You will roast walking in. This has been a game changer for me. Recently was archery hunting with 28 degree temps in the AM. I sat toasty warm with my Fanatic gear (jacket, bibs, hoody) Only 4 stars since it is not water proof but have worn it in snow fall without problems. You don't have to layer too heavy with this gear. With the jacket, I used long johns, fanatic hoody, a fleece pullover and that is all. With layering, you may want to get a size bigger but I have have found mine to fit fine with the layering I do. I like the hand warmer pocket in the front. Toss a hand warmer packet in it and you are good to go.

Crossbow / firearms hunters read this

Love this jacket and bibs. Very warm and don’t have to wear so many layers until it gets down into the teens. Being a right handed Xbow and gun hunter, I wish I would have bought the “lefty” jacket so my range finder and grunt tube pocket would be on my left side. When my rangefinder is in the pocket and I have a weapon in my right hand it makes grabbing my range finder difficult with out switching hands. Other than that it’s a great system!

The coat is warm no question.

First it runs small. I am 6’ 175 lbs and I bought the large. It’s too small. I hunt 2/3 of the way up a good size hill. Can’t wear it and climb and it isn’t light or pack up well. I do sit in the stand from dark to dark. The cross zipper is a bit awkward when sitting. There is no stretch to the coat and no hoop so must wear a layer below with a hood if you want one. Yea the coat isn’t perfect but when sitting all day is the really cold weather the shivers won’t get too bad.

very warm no doubt but if u hunt woods or thickets its the wroste thing iv ever owned walked threw one briar patch an now they sound like a sheet of velcro

Great jacket! Sat comfortably in

Great jacket! Sat comfortably in 30 degree weather for three hours with just a merino base layer. Totally silent as I was able to get set up on an 8 pointer who came in out of nowhere at 25 yards. As a system the jacket and bibs are phenomenal and I can’t wait to get back in them during gun season.

Great Jacket When you're sitting.

This Jacket is everything its hyped up to be, as long as you're hunting in a stand or blind. I don't wear this when walking to the stand because I work up a sweat after a few hundred yards through the mountains when wearing it, even well below freezing. That makes it tricky because it doesn't fit well in a midsize backpack with other gear because of the insulation. Warmest coat I've seen for sitting around, but honestly far too warm if you're moving. Would love a little bit of stretch, but at this point, wouldn't want another jacket when I'm sitting in the stand in these northern Decembers.

Just Get It!

After being cold in my stratus jacket almost every hunt I purchased a fanatic and let me tell you, what an improvement. Don’t layer too much because you will sweat your tail off walking to the stand. Worth every penny.

QUIET HEAT

What was an amazing jacket. It is the quietest jacket I have ever worn. I am 6'1" 380lbs with broad shoulders and have no issues. The range of motion is perfect and there are no restrictions or bunching. You will not feel the wind and it does keep you dry in a drizzle. I have to warn you that the fleece shell will soak up moisture when exposed to prolonged wet weather. The safety harness pass through is great. It let's you move without even noticing it is there. There is plenty of room to layer underneath with comfort. This is perfect for those long sits in the tree stand during the winter months.

Is this jacket to warm for Alabama in the winter time November December and January.

Fit is way off

I ordered the XL for the added sleeve length since it’s not offered in tall. Sleeves were just long enough but the body was HUGE. I love my Large Tall Stratus jacket but was hoping to find something for those super cold all day sits. Disappointed.

Wow!!!

What a jacket!!! This thing is amazing. I am someone who has had hypothermia so I get cold easily. This jacket is the shiznit period. Perfect warmth, comfortable, extremely quiet and no wind gets through this thing at all. Sitka is a genius and you can tell they truly care about hunters. Well placed sensible pockets. The built in hand warmer pocket on the front is awesome. It's super comfortable. I have sat in single digit Temps here in PA with 15 mph winds and gusts much faster than that and never got cold once. I am truly happy with this purchase. Sitka gear is worth every penny and is everything they say it is. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome Product

Super warm Jacket/Bibs can sit long hunts on cold November and December nights. I was super impressed.

Cold weather

Sat on an all day sit in my tree stand with this jacket and matching bibs on. It was snowy and temps reached a whopping -4 and never once got cold. I love the kangaroo pouch to load up with hot hands! Pull the trigger and spend the money. I wish Sitka was around when I first started hunting because I wouldn’t have wasted money on all the other brands!

In my opinion, this is the absolute best cold weather upper available for stand positions. It's also the most unique in design and construction - and that's also a plus! I must confess upon receipt, the piece looked and felt nothing like I thought it would - but exceeded all expectations. As others have said - it may be too warm for many applications - but use can be expanded to less than frigid conditions by limiting layers - if desired.

Getting older sometimes means feeling

Getting older sometimes means feeling the cold more. I sucked it up and bought this coat for the PA rifle deer season and wasn't disappointed. At first, the zipper seemed a little odd, but the design compliments the hand warmer pocket which is unbelievably warm. With only two base layer shirts, I wore this jacket with the temperature in the low 20's. Wearing the Fanatic jacket in the blind was like sitting on my couch, nestled in a soft warm blanket. After my buddy saw it and tried it on, he immediately purchased one also. I wish I would have bought this a few years ago! Now I look forward to cold mornings on stand.

Bought the Fanatic bibs and

Bought the Fanatic bibs and jacket. Spent more money on hunting clothes then ever in my life. The crotch seams of the bibs came apart and the right leg zipper completely separated. The jacket lacks a hood. Is only warm if there is not snow or rain dripping down the back of your neck!

I can tell you that

I can tell you that this is a game changer for the cold Wisconsin mornings in the stand and the fanatic system is without a doubt top tier gear. Every design to this jacket is well thought out and Sitka hit the nail on the head. Size up 1 to allow for room with extra baselayers for those extremely cold days, and you will be set. I recommend this to every Midwestern whitetail hunter.

Should have purchased years ago! Went hunting when it was -10 below zero and it worked perfectly, never got cold. I would give more than 5 stars if i could. I would recommend to anyone who wants quality equipment.

Love this system. This is

Love this system. This is actually my second time purchasing this set (I like trying new stuff and friend talked me into a different brand). I missed it enough to sell that gear and come back to the Fanatic. Warm, quiet, wind proof. Wore the original set on a bro trip to Wisconsin couple years ago when it dipped to near zero and had steady snow. Sat all week daylight to dark and killed a nice 8 on last day. Be prepared to carry this stuff in, though. Made that mistake on the Wisconsin trip and found myself stripping down in a 20 foot stand in the morning darkness to shed my soaked next to skin layer. Oops. If you’re not a fan of cold sits, I recommend this stuff.

The best jacket I’ve ever

The best jacket I’ve ever had period. Used it hunting the Kentucky Rifle season on public land in the teens to 20’s out. Never once got cold. Wore it hunting in the 40’s-50s during Ohio’s extended gun season, never once got too hot. It’s also the only winter jacket I have that I can shoot my compound without string interference. I’m never getting rid of this jacket and I intend to buy more Sitka clothing.

This jacket keeps me warm

This jacket keeps me warm and blocks the wind but I do not like the way it feels once on and while I am trying to put it on. The cross zipper makes one side short so it complicates things while trying to put it on.

Amazing jacket! I got mine

Amazing jacket! I got mine about 5 years ago so I don't have the newer one but I love it. My only thing I don't like is the collar I am not a fan of the tall collars on anything Sitka has..I wish they would do away with them. I am around 5'11 and 230 lbs. I have a XL and it fits like a glove. I can be very comfortable with a hoody underneath. It's extremely warm and completely windproof like they say. I live in Illinois so there are times that it gets extremely cold. 30 degrees for about 7 hours with just a thermal underneath. Anything colder I do add a hoody under it ..You probably don't have to in most cases but I do just because I know once you get that chill it's hard to shake off...This jacket is very pricey but I look at it like what's it worth to you? I hunt every weekend all season and take 1 week vacation to hunt. Hunting is my life and this jacket could last me a lifetime so I feel it's money well spent.

I gotta say the camo

I gotta say the camo works. Here on Long Island we have a lot of oaks, cedars, brambles and brush. Most of my shots are within 15 yards. I’ve had deer look directly at me and not bust me. I do wish they’d design one more conducive to saddle hunting. The lovely kangaroo pocket is hard to access with a saddle on. An outlet for the saddle harness would be incredible! If you design one feel free to send me the test product!

Buying the trio of the

Buying the trio of the Fanatic Jacket, Hoody, and Bib was a complete game changer for me this year. Before this year if I was tree stand deer hunting November-January, I'd have layers upon layers on in the stand and still I'd freeze. As many of you have probably experienced in the past before being exposed to quality gear, being layered like that is miserable. You feel like the Michelin Man. Not only did this kit keep me warm and comfortable in the stand, but it cut out all of the bulk that I had become accustomed to. Couldn't be happier w/ my purchase. If you're hesitant or on the fence about any of these pieces, just do it, you won't regret it.

The Fanatic jacket is as

The Fanatic jacket is as good as it gets for cold weather hunting. It's design is perfect for firing a bow or shooting with a rifle. I used this jacket with one heavy weight base layer and a midweight base layer below zero and felt comfortable sitting on all day sits. I did have 'hot hands' in the hoody pouch which helped my core temperature but it was mainly there for my hands. On one occasion when the temps dropped to -40 degrees I had a traverse hoody under my Fan jacket. I was very warm. This jacket is designed for bow hunting which means it's technical fit can affect the way you layer. I am 5'9', 160 pounds and have always ran size medium on all my clothes. I did use the medium fan jacket with minimum layering and it worked great but because of the fit it is hard to layer another thick mid layer underneath it. I paired it with the fanatic bibs and I was in tree stand heaven. The quality is unmatched. It is silent and incredibly comfortable. Because of the tech and functionality it is my favorite piece of Sitka gear.

I hunted on some pretty

I hunted on some pretty cold and snowy days this season. I was very impressed with the wind stop and warmth with minimal bull. I can’t remember ever being that comfortable in a treestand for that long in cold temps before.

I've had the mid-weight fanatic

I've had the mid-weight fanatic jacket and bibs for several years now and they've been great, but do not stand up to the colder weather that I've hunted the last few years. I bought the new jacket/bib and haven't had cold enough weather the last two trips to use them as much as I wanted! The reason I'm writing the review has to do with the upgrades relative to the first jacket/bib combo I bought. It's amazing. The sleeves at the wrist on the older jacket are way too tight, they got it right this time around. The inner liner on the pouch pocket to give separation is great. Really like the new features and the warmth component is a game changer. Mostly bow hunting and the gear is efficient and very quiet. I'm stoked with the purchase.

I’ll start by saying I’m not a guy that leaves reviews and this very well may be my first time. This system impressed me enough to do so. I have been on the fence about buying this gear for some time now and finally broke down and bought the entire system. Needless to say it did not disappoint. I sat for hours in sub zero temps and if not for my feet being cold I wouldn’t have believed it was even cold outside. I was so warm and comfortable it was almost surreal. Thanks you for all you do Sitka and you have me hooked for life. This gear really is a game changer.

Of course since the purchase it has not been cold enough to do a long sit. From what I have worn it out and about “testing” in various conditions it has been great! Pockets are laid out nice, material seems amazing, Greta thought has gone into the form of construction! I would purchase again if needed, and will be purchasing other lines of Sitka Product in the near future!

The Fanatic jacket keeps me warm. It doesn't weigh me down. It's not very bulky. It's super quiet and that's important to me as a hunter. I wish it were water proof, but you can't always get what you want, but with this jacket I get what I need. Thanks for a great product!!!

Finally had a chance to sit in the extreme cold with my fanatic setup during that huge midwest we had a few weeks back. . Holy smokes did this deliver! So comfortable too. Just don’t wear this walking into your stand ! Love it !

Well for starters, I have

Well for starters, I have to say the fanatic system is the best late season bow hunting gear out there by far. The fanatic jacket was definitely designed with the treestand bow hunter in mind. Everything was meticulously thought out, from the magnet on the collar, the constant connect so you never have to disconnect your harness, and my absolute favorite part the intergrated hand muff, put a hand warmer in there and you are golden. Quiet... unbelievably quiet. The windproofing in this jacket is legit don't understand why people would say it's not. As for the hood, I get it however keep in mind this system was designed for the treestand bow hunter and a hood would get In the way trust me. Sitka offers the fanatic beanie which is awsome use that with their neck gaiter and your not getting cold at all. I have sat with this system with some additional base layers down to temps of -23C or -11F and I had never had an issue. Best stuff out there and a warranty that is unrivaled. Had an issue with my fanatic bibs and sitka did not hesitate to replace them amazing service, big shout out to Jenny, Connor and Ross outstanding customer service!. If you are thinking about buying this gear, do it and you will not regret it.

Not windproof, as I write this I’m sitting in my stand it’s 27 degrees and a 14mph wind and I can say without a shadow of a doubt I absolutely feel this wind on all parts of my body. If you want windproof look elsewhere.

I bought this jacket this

I bought this jacket this fall. It's quiet and fits me ok. My biggest complaint is there is no hood with this jacket. I have one of the earlier Fanatic jackets and it came with a hood. Can't believe that Sitka would make this jacket for cold weather stand hunting and not include a hood. Froze during the Iowa shotgun season after about 2 to 3 hours in a stand. Wasn't bad in a box blind, but in a hang on tree stand it was cold. I strongly encourage Sitka to come up with a hood retrofit for this jacket, it would most likely make this a good jacket for us guys who do all day late season whitetail sits. Until they add a hood, Do Not buy this jacket as you will really be disappointed. Step up Sitka - finish the design of this jacket!!
