Punches above its weight

This is one of my favorite pieces from Sitka. This thing is warm and although it doesn’t claim to be wind roof, it does really well. On 35-45 degree days duck hunting I wear this and a vest and feel great. Only downside is no pockets in the front. I constantly reach to slide my hands in and there is nothing. All in all it’s a fantastic layering piece or outer layer in mild to cold conditions.

Big piece of my layering system

The heavy weight hoody is my universal piece of my layering system. Warm weather hunts I can wear the heavyweight over a lightweight hoody or t-shirt when the weather is cooler and easily pack it away when the weather warms. In cold weather it is a great piece to wear under jackets/coats and is not too bulky to be uncomfortable.

Best Layering Piece

This hoodie is the best to wear under the Hudson! 30 degrees out throwing decoys in this with the long sleeve lightweight tee under is money. Throw the Hudson on for sits and you’re golden. Fitted hood is nice too. XL is a bit big on me compared to some Sitka items but it’s perfect for under waders.

Great winter work piece

One of my favorite winter everyday pieces. It’s been a cold winter so far with temperatures hovering around 0 and the heavyweight hoodie has proven to be a great layering piece. I got one during the offseason and wore it so much that I ordered another when it went on sale. Buy the black one…you can layer it under your camo, and still looks good with work pants. Runs a bit big.

Great hoodie! Title a little misleading

Love the piece, fits true to size. Is pretty warm for what it is. My ONLY complaint is (and this may be a more personal issue than a Sitka issue) is that when I think of a "heavyweight" hoodie, I think of a garment that is heavier/warmer than a typical cotton hoodie. That is not the case with this item. It is relatively thin. Still happy with it though!

Good hoodie, bad fabric odor

I purchased 2 of these heavyweight hoodies. They are a great base-layer/mid-layer. They are warm for their intended use. My dissatisfaction comes from the smell coming from the material that they are made from. The smell isn't super strong until your body heat warms up the material and intensifies the odor to the point that I have a hard time keeping it on. I spoke to customer care and the gentleman recommended washing it again, (I had already washed it in Woolite in hopes of washing out the odor, as well as hanging them with a fan gently blowing on them) I will wash again and see what happens. I was told by my son that Sitka was a "Top of the Line" company so I splurged and bought these articles, but sadly am not confident that they will be wearable. . .

Nice base layer.

I’ve worn this hoodie as a base during an upland hunt (feels like temp 0-10*) and it preformed as expected. The hood definitely helped keeping the back of my neck warm. 6’1, 215lbs ordered an XL, not skin tight, if I wanted skin tight I’d order a large.
