As a Game Warden of
As a Game Warden of 23 years in the Southeast I have spent the majority of my career in the elements. During my tenure I have spent thousands of dollars on outerwear and equipment. I purchased my first Jetstream jacket two years ago and now own 4. I have never experienced the wind cutting and the moisture wicking capabilities of the Jetstream, not to mention the fit and water resistance are exceptional as well. I’m 6’4 220 and the LT fits perfectly! The the quality, durability are excellent but truthfully the sizing is what keeps me coming back! Since my purchase two years ago half my District now owns Sitka. You truly get what you pay for! Keep making top quality items with the tall guys in mind and we will keep ya in business!

Seems sizing Sitka gear is
Seems sizing Sitka gear is highly variable. In this jacket I found the sleeves to be short and forearms too tight even in the XL Tall size. Ordered XXL and the sleeves were still too short. I had to go all the way up to XXXL for the sleeves to be long enough and then the body of the jacket was huge.

I've been looking for a
I've been looking for a fairly lightweight, quiet, windproof, non-camo jacket for quite some time and saw that this appeared to fit the bill. I am 6'1' 185 and wasn't sure what size to get so waited to order until I could try one on for sizing. The large was a little snug and didn't leave enough room for layering, so ordered an XL. It fits my needs in all aspects. I have worn it chukar hunting in 15 degrees with a brisk wind as well as in mid-30's with light rain, and it proved to be everything I had hoped for.

Not quite sure why a
Not quite sure why a windproof jacket would have big open cuffs for the wind to blow in? Sitka makes great gear but I had to return this jacket as it has big open cuffs and the wind would just blow right up them. The jacket is almost perfect but that alone is a no go for me. Sitting in the wind with your arms up while glassing with these open cuffs just doesn't make sense.

I don’t have any experience
I don’t have any experience with the previous version. But I am enjoying the revised single chest pocket version. The fabric is soft and quiet. I purchased a solid color and have been wearing it everywhere ! It’s beyond comfortable and with a flannel on underneath I have been comfortable out in 30 degrees walking the dog . Great jacket! I understand why it’s a Sitka favorite!

Giving three stars bc there
Giving three stars bc there is not an option for two and a half stars. I’m extremely luke warm on this jacket for the price. For the purpose of going up and down hill out west, it’s just ok.The pit zips help with overheating. I’m not really sure what’s so amazing about this jacket. When the wind blows and it’s 40 degrees you’re def not warm even when wearing a light base layer and a t shirt. You need to add a heavy base layer or a hoody to keep warm (I understand the layering systems). I was expecting more of a go to all purpose jacket for the cost. When wearing a t shirt alone the pit zippers are an annoyance. With multiple base layers and the kelvin over it you have a solid suit.

There’s a reason it’s their
There’s a reason it’s their top-selling jacket. It’s unbelievably versatile. So far, I haven’t worn it much below 30 degrees, but with a puffy jacket, I could easily get down to 15 degrees. I’d suggest sizing up. I’m 6’2” 206 lbs with a 43/44R chest, and I could easily put a 260 wt. merino base layer, fleece jacket, and arc’teryx atom LT and my Stratus bibs under them without feeling bulky. I have fit my heavy duty puffy jacket under it, but it’s a little tight in the forearms. I wouldn’t mind a little bit more room in the elbows and forearms to allow for maximum layering when I need more than the three layers, but it works. I bought an XL in Elevated II and am very happy with it. It’s also very quiet. Admittedly, my Stratus bibs are as quiet as outer space, but there isn’t a buck on earth that will spook from a brush of the Jetstream. No crackle. No sandpaper sound. It’s quieter than my other softshell. I can fit Leica rangefinder in the chest pocket for easy access, which is amazing. Can a perfect product be improved upon? Sure. 1. Move the interior chest pocket to match the exterior one like the old Stratus. 2. Add a small left shoulder zip pocket. This is great for chapstick or ear protection. 3. Open up the forearms a little for layering. 4. Add access for a harness behind the shoulders like on the stratus.

I have the previous version
I have the previous version of this coat (purchased June 2021) and absolutely love it. I'm 5'10 and 195 and a large fits me well. It stops the wind better than any jacket, and the Pit Zips are a GAME CHANGER for dumping heat when you're on the move. There are plenty of pockets, it's breathable, pretty quiet overall, and sheds light rain pretty well. It's warm enough with a base layer into the 20s if you're actively moving, but if you're stationary I would definitely add some extra layers. I wouldn't wear it in a downpour or busting briars, as it does get some snags, but overall this coat is probably my favorite one in the closet. I'm considering buying another now that they have it in solid colors for going out on the town if the new version is as good as the old version. Will have to compare with the new version the next time I'm at the store and see it in person.

While this jacket does well
While this jacket does well against the wind and a good amount of cold, the fit remains its biggest issue. The large is LARGE! And the medium works great but the arms are way to short. A Medium Tall would be a good fit for alot of people.

Just finished a cold, VERY
Just finished a cold, VERY windy hunt in Kansas. This jacket was the bomb. Never felt the wind. Used very light layers underneath and had total temperature control for two long days in the wind. One day was wet with total fog but not raining. Stayed completely dry and comfortable (but not a real rain test!). Hood was very adjustable and easy to snug down when needed. Outstanding jacket with lots of pockets and great features. Very light. Love it and highly recommend.

Jacket feels light and very comfortable. Got it because it's supposed to be more water repellent than the Dakota. Definitely won't be as warm as the Dakota but will get me to late season for sure. One thing I'd love to see, Velcro on the cuffs! It would be awesome to tighten the cuff down for reaching into the water and not have to wear gloves. I'm good with the cuff itself getting a little damp if it was tight but without velcro the water will be going all the way up the sleeve. Just a thought. Would be awesome to have!

Excellent jacket; as stated in
Excellent jacket; as stated in other reviews, it is very durable. It cuts wind completely out and isn't super noisy. The water resistant rating is pretty accurate; light rain and snow accumulation doesn't affect it or get you wet but heavy snow for a couple hours will eventually start soaking through. Dries out pretty quick though!

The products wind protection is great. With a good base layer top on the jacket provides plenty of warmth for a 6 hour sit in 25-30 degree weather. 4 stars due to the zipper. Overall I am very happy
Overall I am very happy with the 'wind stopping capability' of the garment. It does an excellent job of cutting wind and keeping you warm. However I have worn this 10-20 times and the outer fabric has begun to 'pill'. This is light use.. not wearing a pack or breaking brush. I almost want to ask for a warranty as the fabric seems to be so low quality for the suggested 'outer layer' use.. It's similar to a nice sweatshirt or something not a hard outer layer.. I'm upset that the piece looks very worn so early on:/ I've had a similar north face wind breaker garment that looks brand new 5 years later.. My review of this product is not how I feel about the majority of Sitka products as most are top notch. I would just request Sitka replaces this outer layer material.

Not sure if I have
Not sure if I have this Jetstream or the previous model, I bought it 2 years ago. Either way, the tech is the same for the most part. Windstopper and yes it does, I wanted to wait to write this review until I had a day that was worthy, and boy did I. Last week in central Kansas, 24 degrees winds were out of the north 20 gust 34 and I was 15 feet up in a tree. I had on a core LW hoodie, fanatic hoodie, kelvin lite hoodie, and then the jetstream. I was toasty warm and once I threw on my jetstream beanie bam! even warmer. The ability of the goretex to cut the wind is fantastic, I have had windproof gear in the past that a real wind will cut right through, but not this time. Now you need to make some jetstream bibs and I would be set!

This is a versatile jacket
This is a versatile jacket that can be worn from early season into the mid-late season with adequate layering while still maintaining enough mobility to saddle up and draw your bow. I bought the jetstream to pair with Stratus pants for mid season outers because they have the same warmth rating. This is a mismatch. The pants are far warmer than the jacket. If you’re looking for a mid season set I recommend looking at the Equinox pant and adding appropriate base layer bottoms.

Saved me from a beaver
Saved me from a beaver attack! This jacket has been my go to outer layer for over a year now and has never let me down. The durability and dependability of this jacket is unmatched. Last winter while running a trap line a series of bad decisions led me to have a 40lb beaver biting down full force on my left nipple area, the strength of this jacket stopped the teeth from breaking through and I was left with only bruises and the jacket showed no evidence of the bite.

Quality is excellent, 4 stars
Quality is excellent, 4 stars because it doesn’t deserve the 3 out of 5 bars for warmth, maybe due to my misunderstanding of layering. I expected a little more insulation on the inside, jacket is extremely thin but does it’s job at blocking the wind. What insulation is inside is not cheap by any means and keeps the bulk down tremendously. Fits as expected XL 5’9” 210lbs broad shoulders.

I bought the new version
I bought the new version of the Jetstream this year; our hunting guide team has used the Jetstream almost exclusively since they first came out as the build was high-quality and Open Country camo is impossible to beat in our grassy region of Montana. This jacket is not that jacket...this is a sweatshirt. I wouldn't even call it a hard fleece. Don't buy this one - make them fix it. This version is not going to be durable, windproof, or water resistant. Come on, Sitka!!!

I purchased this Jacket August
I purchased this Jacket August of 2022, to replace the Dakota Jacket as they have discontinued it and in need for a replacement. I was hoping this would be the new everyday wear jacket, not too thick and hot for Alabama Waterfowl but would still have room to layer. I have wore it everyday of Early Teal season and Early goose that was cold enough to grab a jacket. Plenty of room to layer underneath, I grab the merino heavyweight and the Fahrenheit vest, recently replaced by the new Kevin Aerolite, plenty of room through mid section and chest but tight in the armpits unfortunately. On the warmer days I pair it with the lightweight hoody and unfortunately have ran into the same issue too tight under the arms and causing chafing. The jacket fits great other than that, but unfortunately I will be looking for the next piece of gear to replace it. Sure I could up size and get a large but then it would go against why I love Sitka, well fitting thought out layering gear, also I’m 5’10 175lbs for reference. Great piece of gear love the material, the light weight of it, great fit all around other than the armpits.

The Jetstream is a home
The Jetstream is a home run. This jacket replaced a similar jacket from a direct competitor of Sitka after I found out 'waterproof panels' and 'waterproof hybrid' don't mean what you think they mean, and Kuiu (oops) doesn't stand behind their statements. The Jetstream however,is a phenomenal jacket that out performs the advertising claims. As a ranch manager/hunting guide I depend on my gear to last and perform well. This jacket fits the bill and every feature is very well thought out. The versatility is great, I use it from early season archery hunts with the pit zips open to late season mountain lion hunts on snowmobiles with an insulation layer underneath, and everything in between. My one warning; I'm normally a solid large in everything I wear, 5'9' 170lbs, but when I kneel down in a large, the back of the jacket comes up over my belt and allows wind in. I had to go with large tall.
