Fits Great, But Definitely a Layer Piece

It’s a beanie, so there’s not much to review—but I’m a large guy with a big head, and it fit great. I haven’t tested it yet in real Montana cold, and I’m a bit skeptical since it’s pretty thin. That said, Sitka designs everything around layering, so it’s probably excellent in the right setup. I just wouldn’t choose it as a one-and-done cold-weather piece.

I like the feel of the hat, but it shrank the first time I washed it and now I can't wear it. I washed it on cold, gentle cycle with scent killer laundry detergent. This leaves me with a $45 hat I can't use. I washed it with several other things I purchased and this was the only one that shrunk. Disappointed.

I bought the Merino 330 Beanie looking for something lightweight, warm, yet breathable, and it is just that. It's thin and doesn't impair my hearing, warm but doesn't cause me to get sweaty during long treks in 10°-30° temps. Would highly recommend.

Hate wind in my ears,

Hate wind in my ears, so this is perfect to block out the wind, but doesn’t affect my hearing. On the colder nights recommend using this as a layer.

Light Weight Warmth

My whole shift to Sitka has been my quest for warmth without bulk. Well add the 330 Merino to the list. Bought the gloves first and then the beanie. Fits perfectly. Warm and thin.

Super amazing quality as always from Sitka. The Merino 330 beanie is perfect for cool mornings in the stand and can serve as an amazing base layer for your noggin with a heavier beanie. Wicks sweat and retains heat. Live the fit. Super thin but warm no unnecessary bulk.
